Hi, I'm

erica

Not necessarily of more things—of the right things.

The notebook I keep buying. The shirt that works with everything. The camera I always reach for. A handful of meals on repeat. A workout routine simple enough to stick with. Materials that get better with age. Systems that make everyday life work a little better.

I like quality. I like function. I like beautiful details. And I particularly like when all three show up in the same place.

I'm drawn to things that work together—little collections, kits, routines and combinations that take some of the noise out of everyday life.

It might be a few pieces of jewelry I wear constantly, a bag that has been with me for years, the cameras I choose between depending on what I'm making, or the same breakfast I've eaten more times than I could possibly count.

I don't think everything needs to be new or constantly improved. Some of my favorite things are the ones I've used long enough that I no longer have to think about them.

They've simply become mine.

i tend to find what works and stick with it

i've always been a collector

the idea behind the capsule library

creativity has always been there

I've spent most of my career working with numbers, systems and businesses, but the things people have always noticed about me are the creative ones.

Photography has been part of my life for years. I notice light. I rearrange rooms. I obsess over materials and typography. I make things, organize things, photograph things and inevitably think about how something could work a little better.

For a long time, that side of me mostly lived outside of my professional life.

This site gives it somewhere to go.

I realized that so much of the way I live already happens in capsules.

My workouts are essentially three things I repeat: running, HYROX and walking. I have a handful of meals I make again and again. My closet has pieces that work with almost everything. My desk has tools I've used for years. My home is filled with materials and objects I chose because I love how they look and how they function.

The Capsule Library is simply my way of collecting all of that in one place.

Not everything I own.
Not everything I've tried.

Just the edit.

Creative. Everyday. Work.

Some capsules are practical. Some are beautiful. Most are probably a little of both.

You'll also find my photography, things I've made, longer stories I've written, and links to the things I genuinely use and recommend.

It's a growing collection, and I don't expect it ever to be completely finished.

That's part of the point.
